207 Music Series - Rob Babson & Friends

Rob Babson & Friends is comprised of three veterans of the Maine music scene.  

Rob Babson (songwriter/guitar/vocals) has fronted The Delta Knights Band, a Maine-based Blues/R&B band which he founded in 1996. He also plays in other projects on bass. Brian Hodgman (drums), drumming for over 50 years, has been a part of The Delta Knights for over 20 years, and is an in-demand session drummer playing all over the state. Troy Bennett (songwriter/bass/vocals) has fronted Half Moon Jug Band since the mid-90s, as well as a new band, Bailey’s Mistake (which features Rob on bass) which describes itself as a “not-quite-traditional, Celtic-inspired, four-piece folk band.” Rob and Troy’s musical collaboration began when they were in high school at Bonny Eagle back in the 80s and had a band called Unfinished Business.

What sets Rob and Friends apart is this band is a unique blend of the original music Babson and Bennett have written over their long and varied careers. You’ll hear a variety of styles in the songs, including blues, R&B, classic rock, and folk in their influences as writers.  You’re in for a treat.
