I usually get my hair done with Camila, and she is absolutely amazing. She knows exactly how to handle my curly and wavy hair and always gives me beautiful cuts that suit my face and texture perfectly. This time, Camila was booked, so I made an appointment with Whitney, who is listed as a more advanced stylist. I paid significantly more expecting that “advanced” would mean even better results. Unfortunately, this was not the case at all. Whitney was very polite and kind, but the haircut itself was honestly a disaster. I have curly and wavy hair with bangs, and now my bangs are visibly shorter on one side than the other, with absolutely no face framing. It looks choppy, uneven, and far shorter overall than what I asked for. I don’t even know how to style it now because it just looks awkward. What surprised me most is that she blow-dried my hair completely straight before cutting it. Anyone who works with curls knows that cutting curly hair while it’s straightened almost always ends badly because of how much it shrinks when it dries naturally. I expected an advanced stylist to know this basic principle. It feels like she treated my hair as if it were straight, with no understanding of my natural texture or how it would behave after the cut. I really wanted to love this haircut, especially since I paid so much more for Whitney’s service, but I left feeling disappointed and honestly upset. Whitney was sweet, but at the end of the day, I came for a haircut, not just polite conversation. I will continue coming to this salon because Camila is fantastic and knows exactly what she’s doing, but I will never book with Whitney again.
